March 25, 2019
To our Guest of Honor, Rev. Joie C. Galinato, our loving and very supportive President Dr. Cristina N. Manabat, Our Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Elvira Dollaga Mercado, members of the Board of Trusdtees, to our strong and independent Chairperson of the Commission On Deaconess Service, Dss. Sheila Faye D. Binuya, Retired but never be tired, Bishop Solito Toquero… distinguished guests, beloved faculty and staff, our dear parents, sponsors, alumni, fellow graduates, families, friends, ladies and gentlemen, A glorious day!
This is indeed a wonderful day for us. It’s been so long since we answered the call of our Lord to become His servant. And today, in this very moment we rejoice and celebrate our labor of four and five years in the making.
When I entered Harris Memorial College, many things came into my mind. “Kaya ko ba?” “Makakatapos ba ako” but see where I am now. See where we are now my fellow graduating students. See where all our sacrifices, cries, and rants came to be the victory we all have been waiting for. And we cannot be in our place now if not with these people who supported, loved, motivated, challenged and believed in us that we now became a little of what we can be more in the future.
And this speech is really intended to appreciate everyone behind of our success. And please join me as I thank you all.
To our very patient and supportive teachers, who helped us get to where we are today. You never get tired of teaching us. You are always there when we are trying to give up.
God will surely bless you more with over flowing blessings!
To our fellow schoolmates, thank you for all the memories. You gave meaning to our lives as a students, and inspired us to become better person we all can be.
To our fellow student deaconesses, our adings. Thank you for you are precious, You are princesses of our God. Thank you for the sweet smiles and tender hugs. Thank you for the laughters and tears. Thank you for trusting us as your big sisters and treated we like true sisters. Thank you for the respect, understanding, care and love that we became sisters by heart in Christ. This will definitely be our goodbyes but always our hellos for every new beginnings. You will still stay a year, two or three years in our dear Alma Mater. Please do cherish every moment, dahil paglabas mo you can never get everything back in time, keep memories, this memories will last for a lifetime. We do hope that you learn from us, because we your ates did learned a lot. Thank you mga small sister, ading, wali, bunso. It is our pleasure to be your ates. Nakaya ng mga ate, kaya niyo din. Okay lang mapagod basta pagkatapos magpahinga lalaban muli. Dahil friends, we did not fight alone God was, is and will be with us to experience victory. So never give up, just surrender. Not our plans but God’s purpose.
And we, cannot do anything apart from God, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. That still small voice who called us to be a teacher, a deaconess. He, who called us to be in Harris and our Jehovah Jireh who deserve all the praises and Glory will always and forever be the same God who will be our fortress as we turn our new chapter in our lives as teachers and deaconesses.
To the one who really deserve all these, awards, praise, appreciation and applause is the one True King, Almighty God, aming Panginoon, Apo, Ginu. I don’t deserve any of these neither any of us. But God chose and called us to be perfected and be like Christ. We cannot do things alone but because of God who worked in our lives, we can and we did. Kaya Lord, para Sa’Yo ito lahat! Tunay na God’s plan and purpose will always prevail kahit gaano ka pa katigas ang ulo at takbuhan ang tawag Niya. Lord, thank you! Thank you for you did not give up on us when we ourselves is about to give up. Joshua 1:9!
In life, we don’t know what will happen next unless we make our move and trust the process. We need not be afraid, terrified and full of doubts. We need just to surrender all to God and let Him do His thing and we obey Him with all our hearts. He will not bring us here if He will not bring us out here to serve. We all fall short as human but as for God, He can make can and will make things all new. Sometimes, to know God we need to be wrecked and broken to see and know His power. This chapter is about to end, turning another page which is more and a lot bigger and brighter.
The next chapter of our lives will be full of God’s stories. We, the Senior class made it to come this very day. We, the Senior class made it not because of our own but because of God alone, He made us capable of things that He will be glorified and His power be made known to all people. And so, to everyone who can hear me, the voice of every graduating student wanted you to know that THANK YOU! SALAMAT! AGYAMANAK! DAKAL A SALAMAT! DIOS MABALOS!
On behalf of the Senior class, this is MA. CRISTINA C. DYANGCO, A DEACONESS FOREVER, saying “Glory to God in the highest!”
