Dr. Cristina N. Manabat, 5th Filipino President of Harris Memorial College in the Philippines, gave an audio-visual presentation about the school after the business meeting of The Harris Family at the BMO Harris Financial Corp. in downtown Chicago on November 5, 2018.
Those who attended the meeting are descendants of Mr. Norman Waite Harris, a banker-philanthropist in Chicago. According to Mr. Thomas Harris, it was Dwight, the brother of Norman, who donated the initial funds that enabled the school to continue its operation in 1906. The highlight of the presentation was a tribute to Mr. Norman Waite Harris and the giving of plaque of appreciation to The Harris Family for being a faithful and generous partner in ministry of the school for many years until now. It is a modest way to honor Mr. Norman Waite Harris and his brother Dwight and all their descendants who continue the wonderful legacy left by their forebears. This presentation cum tribute is made possible thru the arrangement made by Mr. Tom Farley (Director of Development/Mission Engagement of the General Board of Global Ministries, The United Methodist Church), Ms. Andrea Ramprashad (Manager, Partner Relations, Mission Engagement of the GBGM), and the support of the Board of Trustees of Harris Memorial College.
Photos are taken at the lobby of the building and at the meeting room. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
